I’m Chelsie.
Welcome to my blog.
I’ve never been good at writing introduction posts.
Something about rattling on about myself has never been easy for me.
So, instead of filling this page with paragraphs about me, I’ll stick with 10 bullet points that will help you with context.
- I am a 26 year old mom (both human and dog) from St. Charles, MO.
- My husband and I met in college and are the epitome of ‘opposites attract.’
- My literary hero is Bilbo Baggins. His thirst for adventure and love of the comforts of home is something I identify with on a deeply personal level.
- My real life hero is my Great Grandma. She lived to be 103 and was the most interesting person I have ever met. The woman had the most beautiful flower garden and never knew a stranger.
- I work at a university as, what I like to call, a glorified camp counselor without all the fun. I’m about to start my third year as an Area Coordinator in charge of the on-campus residences. Along with my coworkers, I do everything from unclogging toilets to planning events to moving furniture to lending a listening ear. It is both extremely rewarding and terribly exhausting.
- My husband has compared my ability to binge watch a television series to his ability to play soccer.
- I love to garden. I don’t have the space to have the garden I want right now, but I do have about 20 houseplants, some flowers outside and a tomato plant that is thriving.
- You’ll be hard-pressed to find a music genre I don’t like. Bluegrass, pop, 80’s hair bands, trap music, alternative rock and whatever genre Paul Simon is; I like them all.
- “Flying under the radar” is my super power. I have the ability, like any introvert worth their salt, to blend into door frames, corners and couch cushions in order to avoid a crowd. A sure fire way to make me uncomfortable enough to disappear is to point me out in front of a room full of people.
- I really like listening to murder podcasts and watching documentaries about serial killers.
- I believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins and rose again three days later. I hope to do everything I do for His glory, including attempting to find balance via this blog.
Well, that’s me in 10 bullet points, folks.
I hope that through this blog and the Instagram that accompanies it, you learn more about why this is so important to me.
Thanks for visiting and I hope you stick around.
